Oil on Canvas 48 x 48 inches Anastasia Lennon I painted this friend whilst at art school. The background was a painting of the view from the famous hen-run in Glasgow school of art, which I got bored with. Quite often I will paint over something and leave remnants of the original painting visible. Nikki was a goth at the time and I loved her shocking pink hair. I like to paint quite freely so as to keep some spontaneity in the portraits. This one I just had the inspiration to paint this way because of the way I was feeling… manic!
